WHAT DO YOU WANT TO KNOW?

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO START GETTING MY PET GROOMED AT YOUR SALON?

After you have called and booked your appointment, bring a copy of your pet's Rabies and Bordatella vaccination records on your first visit and you and your pooch are ready to go.

HOW OLD DOES MY PUPPY HAVE TO BE FOR BATHS AND GROOMS?

Most salons require puppies to be 16 weeks of age (4 months old) for baths and/or full grooms. In my professional opinion, a puppy can wait to get it's first bath at 6 months in order to avoid unnecessary drying of the skin and possible skin issues with shampoos. Unless your puppy has rolled in something smelly, I would wait until 6 months of age.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO GET MY PET GROOMED?

2-3 hours depending on your pet's temperament, size, and condition of coat. Pets that do not behave for grooming may take longer for handling, safety, and positive training. Plan your pet's visit on days that you can afford to wait for your pet to be finished in 2-3 hours. A rushed groom is never a good or SAFE groom. I value safety before looks when it comes to a delicate or difficult pet.

MAY I BE PRESENT DURING MY DOG'S GROOMING SESSION?

For the safety of your pet it is preferred that you are not present during the grooming session. Dogs tend to be a lot more anxious and excited when you are around because all they want to do is be with you. An excessively wiggly, moving dog can result in injury and that is unacceptable. Trust that your pet is in caring hands and allow them to learn to trust me and get used to the new environment.

DO YOU WALK DOGS DURING THEIR VISIT AT WHITE FANG GROOMING?

Yes, however, attempt to walk your dog prior to getting here for their appointment to stimulate elimination, this makes their grooming experience more relaxing and comfortable. Have you ever been standing in line somewhere and have to pee at the same time? It's not fun. Dogs are taken out to potty in my fenced in back yard.

WHAT IF MY PET HAS A SPECIFIC FEEDING OR MEDICATION SCHEDULE THAT OVERLAPS WITH HIS/HER APPOINTMENT?

Bring any food/medication your pet may need during his/her visit. I will gladly attend to your instructions regarding your pet’s needs.

WHAT IF MY DOG IS AGGRESSIVE?

I am willing to work with difficult dogs, even those who have had trouble with other groomers. It's best that you let me know ahead of time, I am more likely to succeed if I know what to expect. I may refuse services to pets with severe behavioral issues.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I GET MY DOG GROOMED?

I recommend for pets to be professionally groomed AT LEAST every 4 weeks. After every visit we will book your next appointment 3-4 weeks out depending on your dog's needs for proper maintenance. Baths and tidy-ups in-between full grooms are recommended.

SHOULD MY PET NEED TO GO TO THE VET DURING A VISIT WITH YOU, DO YOU PAY FOR IT?

Safety is my NUMBER ONE focus. My time frame of 2-3 hours for a visit revolves around the safety of your pet. I do not rush grooms, or force service on pets who do not tolerate the rigors of grooming and/or have temperament issues. Although accidents can happen while handling a live animal with clippers and sharp shears/scissors, my safety measures have proven to be successful. Should an accident happen to your pet here, I will call you immediately, and ask if you would want me to take your pet to my nearest CLINIC at my expense.

If you have more than one pet, please plan/anticipate for them to be here for more than 3 hours.

I may refuse service to dogs with bad health and/or behavioral problems (high anxiety, aggressive, physical pain, inability to stand on their own, etc.).

Your puppies MUST provide proof (documentation) of core vaccines, and will not be accepted for service until 16 weeks of age.

Clients who show up late for their appointments, may need to reschedule or pay a $20.00 late fee for service if schedule allows it.

No shows (clients who miss their appointment) and clients that cancel in less that 24hr notice will not be allowed to book future appointments until rescheduling fee is paid 50% of service.

I DO NOT accept females in heat or pregnant.

I offer service to senior pets ONLY AND ONLY IF  the pet is able to handle the rigors of grooming both physically and mentally.

My number one concern is your pets' SAFETY & COMFORT. If a pet shows signs of high levels of stress, I will stop the bath/groom, call you for pick up, and discuss possible options for your pet.

A flea bath is REQUIRED for pets who arrive with live fleas- $20 up-charge. If you refuse the flea bath, I will not be able to offer further grooming services in my facility. Cleanliness and a healthy/safe environment is my priority. I work with other pets, and cannot run the risk of exposing them to external contaminants, parasites, or pests while in my salon. The flea bath will kill any live fleas on the pet. I recommend that all pets be on a monthly flea/tick/heartworm medication.

If you do not like something about your pets' groom at pick up (ex. you want the ears a bit shorter), please inform me of any touch ups, or changes that you would like me to make on your dog before going home. If you go home without pointing out any dissatisfaction, I will assume you are satisfied with my work.

I DO NOT ACCEPT COMPLAINTS GIVEN DAYS OR WEEKS AFTER YOUR INITIAL VISIT.

DOGS THAT REQUIRE MUZZLING OR EXTRA HANDS TO HELP MANAGE THEM WILL BE CHARGED AT A HIGHER THAN STANDARD GROOMING RATE. THIS IS BECAUSE DOGS SHOWING AGGRESSION OR ACUTE NERVOUSNESS TAKE MUCH LONGER TO GROOM.

I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE ANY DOG THAT PRESENTS A RISK OF INJURY TO ME OR ITSELF.
