Some pet owners like to get "serious" with their dogs' names and why wouldn't they? Naming your pet is a fun family experience simply because there is more room for creativity! Pet names can be meaningful or just plain silly compared to naming kids. I mean lets face it, other animals won't make fun of Sugar Cookie the Rottweiler...Or will they?
I've put together a list of the funniest pet names I've heard working as a pet groomer.
Top 5 Wackie Doggie Names
1. KITTY
Yes, a dog named "Kitty". Mom wasn't a cat person, but she wanted to be able to get home from work and call out, "Here kitty kitty" without the cat...So she named her new puppy "Kitty". Talk about identity problems for that doggie! But I have to say, it is super cute!

2. POO-POO
No, this doggie isn't stinky, but the cutest fluff ball I've ever met! Poo-Poo's dad is actually a good friend of mine, and when people hear the name they wonder, "You mean Poo-Poo like actual Poo?" (I know because I wondered too) Of course the answer is NO! Just picture how funny it sounds when dad is upset going, "Poo-Poo NO!" and is it confusing to go potty? "Poo-Poo come and go Poo", do I come do I go? What do you want from me?!!

3. FANCY NANCY
I think this is the perfect name for a sassy Pomeranian. Every time Fancy Nancy comes to see me, she loves her spa days. She also used to get her nails painted pink with sparkles (not anymore because she's a senior pup. Fancy Nancy is indeed a classy lady!
4. DOG MARLEY
Don't worry about a thing... I think we all know who this pup was named after, Bob Marley, reggae music icon. Dad is a Bob Marley fan, and said Dog Marley actually loves his music too! When she's anxious dad plays his music and Dog Marley just curls up in her bed with the biggest puppy smile on her face. That's right doggie, every little thing is going to be alright.

5. BROCCOLI
There's just something so funny about naming your pups after your favorite things like food! However, Broccoli was named after the veggie broccoli because even as a puppy his favorite treat was broccoli! And for his grooming appointments mom brings, you guessed it!! Broccoli in a baggie as treats!

TOP 5 WACKIE CAT NAMES
1. GIORGINNA
Nothing amuses me more than animals with human names. This is one of my favorite cat names out there. It was the funniest thing, when vet techs would call out "Giorginna the cat is here!" Such a serious name for a kitty, it's just purrfect!

2. MISTER WHISKEY OF THE FLUFFY PANTS "WHISKEY"
Was it his fluffy butt? His glamorous whiskers? The fluffy belly? Does he like to drink whiskey? I still don't know why my sister decided to name her kitty, Mister Whiskey of The Fluffy Pants. All I know is that it's hilarious and definitely a conversation starter!
3. THE GREAT CATSBY
Mom is a fan of the American author F. Scott Fitzgerald. She loves the story and thinks her cats' serious face is even funnier when she calls him by that name, and I do too!

I wonder how many times Katy Perry has heard this one! Obviously, mom is a Katy Perry fan and her favorite song is "Roar". She loves the music video which has a lion roaring in some scenes. Kitty Purry...cute and clever!

This one has stuck with me for 5 years now! Another clever one like Kitty Perry. However, Winston Purrchill was a serious professional cat- he thought he was human and demanded to be treated like the important figure he was.

Working in the pet industry I have met so many pets with hilarious names. Still today I am still surprised at people's creativity and sense of humor when it comes to their pets' name. I am part of this funny pet naming crew with my Miniature Pinscher named Rico, Rico Suave.
